When a car crash results in fatalities, it is common for many questions to arise in the aftermath. Law enforcement officers may have questions regarding what took place, and their investigations can often help them gain answers. Family members of the deceased victims may have questions about what actions they could take in hopes of seeking justice and compensation for the outcomes of such car accidents.
Multiple families in Connecticut may be looking to gain more information on their legal options after a recent accident. Reports stated that a vehicle was heading south when it collided with another vehicle traveling north. There were at least four people in the southbound vehicle and at least three people in the northbound vehicle. It was also noted that a third vehicle was somehow also involved in the incident but not in the crash itself.
The collision resulted in an 18-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman suffering fatal injuries. The older woman was eight months pregnant at the time of her death. The driver of the southbound vehicle was considered to be in critical condition, and another passenger suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. It was also reported that three individuals in the northbound vehicle were also transported to an area hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Due the the deaths that have occurred as a result of this Connecticut incident, the families of the victims may have reason to pursue legal action against the driver considered at fault. Information on wrongful death claims — and personal injury claims for injured survivors — could help them determine whether following this path could suit their circumstances. Successful cases could allow anyone seriously injured car accidents to potentially obtain compensation for allowable damages.
